Unless one is a single parent, no one “has to” work. If one income is the living while the second income pays off the debt, then eliminate the debt. Buy a smaller house. Sell the second car, the boat, the timeshare. Cancel satellite TV. Eat at home. Wear thrift store clothing. Do what you have to do, but either Mommy or Daddy should stay home with the children.
Sweetie, we DO wear thrift store clothing, we don’t OWN a home, we RENT, and Daddy left in 2002, it’s just Mommy and Emily now. Feel stupid yet? You should. I HAVE to work. I don’t believe in welfare.
Get the picture?
We have dozens of articles posted here decrying the immature state of our college students and the "extended adolescence" of our 20 year olds.
But kids should NEVER be left alone, according to several posters.
So, how are we supposed to teach our kids to be responsible for themselves?
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
