If war is the last thing that they want, then they're going to get war whether they like it ot not. Same with the US if we withdraw from Iraq.
The Islamic War is one we will fight and probably win- certainly win if we bite the bullet and do it now, less certainly and far more expensively and sanguinarily if we dodge Iran now. It will come no matter what we do to pacify the little places. Our putting it off and diddling around on the periphery of The Beast only convinces the emirs and mullahs that we do not understand this war and are afraid of it and won’t really fight.They grow stronger and Jihad spreads throughout the paynim world. So maybe when we do have to do it, maybe because Indianapolis has just lost its center to a nuke, we will have to subdue and destroy Pakistan and Egypt and Saudia Arabia as well as Iran. The outcome will be less certain then. Far cheaper in lives and resources if we do the job now while it only requires the smashing of Iran. A few years ago it only needed that Iraq be laid waste. That would have been easy. We didn’t do it.
