I've theorized for quite some time that dietary trans fats are the cause of our massive societal addiction to antidepressants.
Our brains are made up of something like 70% fats. Many studies have shown that good fats do good things for the brain. Fish oils will mitigate depression and bipolar. Vitamin e will slow the progression of Alzheimer's. CoQ10 slows progression of Parkinson's. That's just off the top of my head, you get the idea.
So if GOOD fats do GOOD things for the brain, is it not then logical to assume that BAD fats will in turn do BAD things for the brain?
I can't prove it though....

CSPI subscribes to the dangerous philiosophy of “ALL fats are bad for you”, so they successfully got all the good fats out of the American food supply and they were all fine and dandy with the good fats being replaced with trans fats.......and we wonder why obesity rates, cancer rates, mental illness rates, and even autism rates have skyrocketed since then
The conspiracy nutballs STILL think that the increased autism rates are from mercury in vaccines. Maybe there is mercury in vaccines, and maybe mercury in vaccines does cause autism, but to say that mercury in vaccines is the ONLY cause of rising autism rates is total whackball kookery.
