Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran did not need nuclear weapons and his country was not heading for war with the United States, according to a television interview to be broadcast Sunday. Asked whether Iran's goal was to obtain a nuclear bomb, he said the answer was a "firm no," according to a transcript of his interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" recorded on Thursday in Tehran.
"You have to appreciate we don't need a nuclear bomb. We don't need that. What need do we have for a bomb?" he said

Gotta give CBS props for this interview... they actually pressed him on tough questions (actually treated him as stiffly as they treat president Bush)
His comments are irrlevant, we all know what he is up to, but I have to say I was shocked that CBS actually acted like a REAL news organization (at least in the writeup I read)

Of course he said no. "Obtain" implies getting one from an outside source. Their goal is to "develop" their own.
Or you could look at it as it is not Iran's goal to obtain a nuclear weapon (bought or developed)... But it may be a personal goal of those in power...
Common courtesy? I think not. There is no need for anyone to kiss Ahmadinejad’s @ss. The man is a pathological liar who provides direct aid to terrorists. He hasn’t earned, nor does he deserve any measure of respect.
