I was disappointed that a Texas town wasn't among those spotlighted. An entire National Guard infantry division, the 36th, was mobilized in a single day from 88 different towns and cities for the war. Two of the regiments were decimated and rendered ineffective by Mark Clark's Rapido River fiasco in Italy.
But, from what little I saw in the preview, Burns did a very good job with this. Guess I and everybody else will need to wait to the end of the series to find out how good a job he did do.
