Yes it is and because of the emotionalism attached to it people will believe it. That is one thing that the MSM and Hollywood have learned to do exceptionally well. Burns also presents it from the perspective of todays social & political mores.

Everybody I know from the WWII generation that I've asked about it felt that he got the perspective right. They felt that the people on the show reflected how they felt at times - my mother feels like the lady from Alabama could have been living on her block, or been one of her sisters. A friend of my dad's, who is black and was a trucker driver in the Army under Patton actually said that somebody got it right as far as how important WWII was to blacks.

I guess if we all are seeing it differently, then he must have done something right.
