Howzit, General and lady? I’ve been wonking on costumes for my Numerous Offspring, as the long-awaited rain falls in occasional buckets. (Catz are annoyed that we closed the windows.)
We’ve got two Harry Potter characters (Nymphadora Tonks and James Potter); the Spirit of Kudzu Smothering the South (Tom, in acid-green velour robes, with kudzu garlands); the Empress of Rome; Ruby, the Red Fairy; Captain Midnight; the Goa’uld Nirrti (myself, in my purple Pakistani outfit with several shades of orange embroidery); Wednesday, the Hallowe’en kitty (U B SKAYRD!); and two small boys with heads like cinder blocks.
The great thing about all this is that I only have to sew up the Spirit of Kudzu robes and do minor alterations on Tonks’ long black vest. The rest is colorful sweatsuits and safety pins!
Is that before or after the costuming?
Nirrti could be invisible, if I remember correctly, and she had a certain "air" about her.
numerous offspring??? HOW MANY???
sounds like Halloween is a BIG deal at your casa.
fyi, you ought to see the elaborate costumes sewed for Latino children in our village.
last year one little boy (age 5-6??) showed up in a parrot costume with REAL feathers, which were individually sewed on!!!
