Slowest post-move followup I've seen yet. Could this be the Last Post?

Another in a series of astounding, remarkable acts of courage by those who have volunteered to protect us. God bless them one and all, I pray. Thank you for posting it.

"I just couldnt let this story go dead quite yet." I don't know, Sionnsar. This isn't our usual territory.
Our customary banter and whimsy may be taken amiss here. This could be a challenge for the Undead Thread.
Oh, well. I guess this will be a case of "Where no man has gone before!"

This isn't our usual territory. Quite true, and recognized. A calculated risk and the previous such thread was, IMHO, a bad mistake. But I had to balance that against a bunch of other factors, including the huge boredom factor of the few Zot threads allowed to live, and the merits of keeping this one before folks outweighed the rest.
We behaved ourselves on the Pope thread and we can do so again. And I have a reminder

Someone
He is a regular fellow,
In a place he doesnt belong.
Not that he isnt welcome there,
But the time and place are wrong.
Anger is the morning meal,
For half the local folks,
And fear makes up his breakfast,
Along with nervous jokes.
The weaponry is out there,
And some of it has your name.
Your courage can control your fear,
But rockets dont play that game.
And its Wham! Bam! Where did that come from?
And fate is looking at me, through the barrel of a gun.
Im hit! Im hurt! But I am still alive.
Im getting myself out of here. Please someone help me drive.
The bomb has landed in me,
Its safe and warm and snug.
I look around at friends of mine.
I know they want to bug.
They take a breath of courage,
And stand to see me through,
Id like to think that in their place,
Thats just what I would do.
The Medic knows the danger,
But hes an angel man.
He knows Im fighting for my life,
And hell do what he can.
And its Wham! Bam! Where did that come from?
And fate is looking at me, through the barrel of a gun.
Im hit! Im hurt! But I am still alive.
Im getting myself out of here. Please someone help me drive.
They rush to get me airborne,
A chance no one should take.
But they are men who stood with me,
They do it for my sake.
Well, some may know Im married,
A father, gonna be.
But others only see the blood,
And take a chance on me.
Im no one really special,
No different from the rest,
I guess my only role to play,
Is to put them to the test.
And its Wham! Bam! Where did that come from?
And fate is looking at me, through the barrel of a gun.
Im hit! Im hurt! But I am still alive.
Im getting myself out of here. Please someone help me drive.
They got me to the clinic.
They got the weapon out.
They took it down the road a piece,
To let it have its shout.
The anger of the world condensed,
Into a blast of rage,
Now safely detonated,
Upon an empty stage.
So all I have to do right now,
Is drag myself along.
And stuff my straw back in my chest,
Get back to being strong.
But its Wham! Bam! Where did that come from?
And fate is looking at me, through the barrel of a gun.
Im hit! Im hurt! But I got through the drive.
Someone got me out of there. Someone kept me alive.

I'm probably not going to be around much any more. Things, stuff, ect...
I think the political silly season is gonna be bad one this time around. I may take a hiatus for a bit. Won't be the first time, won't be the last.

Too much crap going on on FR these days. Stuff I don't like very much. Too much coddling of RINO's, too much bashing of real conservatives, almost NO support for "smaller" government, and entirely too much apologetics for the GOP's asinine policies.
This isn't an opus. I just need a break. I'll pop in from time to time. Just not nearly like I used to.
