I don’t think that Versace’s name will help him, for the obvious reasons.
I don’t think age will help, either (nevermind the residency issue). You don’t embark on a Congressional career when you’re nearly 70 (especially as a rodent that doesn’t believe in term limits). Of course, there was RI’s Theodore Francis Green who “retired” to the Senate at nearly the age of 70... he stayed for almost a quarter century. It wasn’t until Strom came along that he broke his record for most elderly 90-something Senator.
