I love nimrod jocks who think they know politics... Unfortunately, a lot of stupid voters take them seriously, identify with them, and will vote for them because they were good athletes.
Heath Shuler in North Carolina is a good example. He beat a well entrenched GOP incumbent by six points. The incumbent never had a chance as Shuler was a famous football star from a neighboring state.

Shuler is from NC (Swain county), he lived in TN for most of his adult life, but he wasn't exactly a carpetbagger.
Taylor had ethical questions that hurt him, but hopefully our own Congressman Billybob will be able to retake the seat in '08.
