Rudy Giuliani gets the 2nd Amendment completely wrong in NRA speech [saved by a phone call]

Right before Giuliani took his "impromptu" call during the NRA speech, he was discussing the second amendment. However, when discussing the second amendment's language, he mistakenly began to paraphrase the fourth amendment instead! Then he answered the phone and changed the subject. Here's the transcript, followed by the video:

"After all the second amendment is a freedom every bit as important as the other freedoms in the first ten amendments. Just think of the language of it -- 'the people shall be secure' --let's see, this is my wife calling..."

(talks to and about his wife)

(then he resumes with a subject change) "...but the parking decision offers an excellent example..."

Giuliani forgetting the second amendment in his big NRA speech is a giant SNAFU. In the media attention over the call itself, let's see if this part of the story gets any mention.

I just watched today’s video again. I think the theory of that not being his wife is a good one. His facial expressions are priceless. I truly believe it was an aide telling him he screwed up. His jokes were simply stall tactics to try to figure out how to recover.

Well, I think it was an event of campaign supporters—they’d cheer at most anything (even Hillary! —just kidding!)

Which goes to show that many campaign supporters are morons who respond to flashing "applause" signs. Rudy, in particular, couldn't tell a joke without a laugh track.

The wife angle was doubly successful. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Clinton camp is already prepared to go after Giuliani on his personal life, so this seems to be a little bit of preemptive strategy. That, and Rudy has no idea what the Second Amendment is about.

Rudy gets more disgusting by the day. If someone in the audience took a calls like that during a formal speech--distracting from the speaker and topic at hand....they would be kicked out.
