There is so much to say about a story like this.....the only thing to say is that the USA is probably in it's last days.

First off, it’s in the NYTimes, so I don’t believe a word except the date. 2nd, if you’re basing the US’s history on anything the Times tells you, then perhaps YOU are in your last days. Know what I mean?

2. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with hearings like this. On balance, I think it's probably better to have them than not, as a measure of accountability for the use of deadly force in what was essentially an assassination. If the facts are as reported in the story, the Green Berets have nothing to worry about.

I love the release of Green Beret’s names in this article. Why not just put up their SS numbers, addresses, kid’s schools, and telephone numbers too? Hell Haji needs a little help to find them and kill them, thanks to the NYTiimes. You guys are so protective of the military.

Would this mean that if a soldier killed an unarmed Osama bin Laden, he could charged with murder?

If you want to lose your country in a hurry, just let lawyers run the military in a time of war.
How profoundly pathetic.

It is very obvious from all I have read about this, and listened to on T.V., and in discussions with a friend who is a sniper in Special Forces, that Gen. Kearney is either scared of his job, or is a damned poor commander of his troops and should be fired. When the CID (Army Criminal Investigations)signs off on any shooting, I know for a fact it has been “vetted” and confirmed. For a commander to order charges brought anyway shows me who has their head up their a$$, and it ain’t the Captain and Sergeant involved in this case. Kearney has to go!

It’s FN hilarious the way these bozos send their soldiers to war and then turn around and charge the soldiers with murder. ROTFLMAO!!!! That’s not how to win wars!!!! FN America! This country does not deserve the men and women who serve in their military.

Capt. Dave Staffel and Master Sgt. Troy Anderson are accused of premeditated murder in the shooting of Nawab Buntangyar on Oct. 13, 2006, at the village of Ster Kalay near the Pakistan border. They were on a mission as part of Operational Detachment Alpha 374 of the 3rd Battalion of the 3rd Special Forces Group. It is my understanding that the Sharpshooter was under orders to take the target out. Did anyone else hear that? What do the Geneva rules have to do with people who do not have a clue as to what those rules are?
What on earth is happening at the Pentagon? Congressional and Senatorial rules of engagement?

Let's say you are a sniper and see a target and request permission to fire. The REMF OK it. Do you pull the trigger knowing you could be charged with murder or do you not fire and face the brig for diobeying an order? Decisions, decisions.
If you are going to send the kids into war, then send them. I must be living in bizzaro world.

For those of you who understand this type of war the only person who should be charge is General Frank H. Kearney, for dereliction of duty. If you want to undermine morale just keep this kind of General in charge. Their military careers are finished no matter what the out come.
