I think he used to be a security guard somewhere on the Mall in DC, and happened to bump into a news job about the time MSNBC was emerging. About the same insightful talent is reflected (as in the Reflecting Pool).

IMHO, this transcript is what is wrong with American politics.

I don’t observe one complete sentence, nor do I observe one argument more than 2-3 steps long over an entire page of transcript.

If people who live in a very secure nation, with secure salaries, and plenty of food, family and shelter are unable to garner enough wherewithal to discuss simple policy issues, let alone complicated national and international issues of conflicting interests, how can one advocate this our status quo in government, reporting, and analysis?

IMHO, we have no moral imperative to influence the volition of foreign nations when our political capacities are so inept locally from township to national arenas. I’ve observed more political swaggering throughout every element of power based upon corrupt systems more than any one simple ability to mange any small problem at even a local level.

It is as if we have become a nation of the corrupt, managing things as though we perceive what is right in our own eyes, as we corruptly manage the corrupt.

I was thinking the same thing reading this pathetic transcript, and have been thinking exactly that EVERY time I watch ANY “shoot-outs” on Fox or MSNBC, or wherever. They are JOKES. I honestly don’t know why Laura or Ann or Michelle would go on anywhere like that and have to deal with such a stacked deck , with smarmy condescenscion from the likes of Chris Matthews, and above all such a severely circumscribed “universe of discourse” allowed.
