Where are all the Ron Paul people coming from?
The Oregon Poll ^ | 9-20-7

Posted on 09/20/2007 6:40:58 PM PDT by Petronski

Over the last two days The Oregon Poll was seen by almost 400 "unique visitors," most of them in support of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. The majority of these people came from these two links on the web.

See, told you we can get along...

Nothing brings the family together like a Paul thread...

Noble idea.

But...

Like the Roman Coliseum, I come for the blood....

Ok, that just sounded cool.

I am game, but we cannot forget that the Paul threads are mainly here for our amusement. That seems to be the intent.

Paul is a knucklehead. Too bad, because his vision for the size and scope of the federal government is almost as small as mine. But when you sound more like a fill in for Cindy Sheehan than you do as a potential commander of our armed forces, then you need to get the hell out of the GOP.

We probably agree on many things, just not who should win the nomination. But certainly on who should NOT win the nomination.

What are Paul's "anti-Israel positions"?

I've followed Ron Paul for close to 30 years, and I've never seen any.

I saw a great deal of criticism here.

Like it or not, The Race isn't considered a racist group by most people.

Do you think Rove would associate with Carto?

His rantings about the “neocons” and his newsletter that said “By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government.”

Assuming that is true, why does that make one anti-semitic? I despise the neocons. (Why do you put that term, which Irving Kristol coined, in quotation marks?)"

I don't know if the Israeli government is one of the most powerful or not, but does merely having that opinion make one anti-semitic?

That explains the reactions to comments you don't find amusing.

In the debate citing he would follow the Constitution AND International Law.

That's a lie.

Paul should disassociate himself from these groups, else other Republican candidates will be forced to criticize him for them.

Hmmm,

Did Karl Rove disassociate himself from La Raza? Did the administration and the Republicans criticize the White House top aid, or condemn him for this?

I saw a great deal of criticism here.

But that's not what you said above. You said, "Republican candidates will be forced to criticize". Did any members of Congress or leaders in the Republican party, or members of the administration criticize him?

The Race isn't considered a racist group by most people.

Hmmm,

La Raza isn't considered a racist group by most? You do under stand that organization has many radical, racist members, many of whom are not friendly to the United States?

Since you seem to feel most don't look at La Raza as a racist, what is your opinion on this organization?

Is this a racist organization or not?

when the vote came up to put the guard on the border, he voted no.

I'd like a source for that statement, if you don't mind.

I think the underlying concept is racist, I don't like Rove pandering to them any more than I like the administration pandering to CAIR, but ike it or not La Raza is not perceived as a racist group.

If you look at their positions, or CAIR's, they don't hold a candle to Willis Carto's various publications/organizations.

Nice try at moral equivalency though.

I'll just go ahead and post the full list of bills we've discussed at length on. (when researching, make sure you search by the correct congress #)

(1) Votes against putting the Military on the border

2004: Goode Amendment to H.R. 4200
2003: Goode Amendment to H.R. 1588
2002: H. Amdt. 479 to H.R. 4546
2001: Traficant amendment to HR 2586
2000: Traficant amendment to H.R.4205
1999: Trafficant Amendment to H.R. 1401.
(2) Paul voted in 1997, 2001( H.R. 1885) and 2002 (H RES 365) to grant, extend or continue Section 245-i amnesties for illegal aliens.
(3) Paul voted NO on extending the voluntary Basic Pilot Workplace Verification Program (H.R. 2359),
(4) Paul voted NO on the border fence in 2005 (Hunter Amendment to HR 4437 - “Enforcement Only” Bill).
(5) Paul voted YES to increase H2-B (HR 763 in 2005) and H-1B visas (HR 3736 in 1998). In 1998, he voted to allow US firms to lay off Americans to replace them with foreigners.

..and just to save you some time, here are the many references where this has been discussed before so you can see all the back and forth.

If paleoPaulie ran the 100 yardsin 9.7 seconds, it was not an athletic event but one in which he panicked as he fled this nation’s enemies for whom he is a spokesman.

Is this a racist organization or not?

Not only are you sensibly opposed to paleoPaulie but you are a Yankee fan! I started rooting for the Yanks in 1951 which was Mickey's rookie year. I hereby withdraw any negative I have ever sent in your direction.

As I type, the Dead Sox have lost 13 of their May 2007 14 1/2 game lead. They are trying to heed the sage advice of Satchell Page not to look over their shoulders because something is gaining on them. Although the Dead Sox are playing Tampa Bay for what seems to be the 81st time this season tonight, they may well be in their accustomed place of looking up at the Yanks by Monday.
