Over the last two days The Oregon Poll was seen by almost 400 "unique visitors," most of them in support of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. The majority of these people came from these two links on the web.

stormfront.org
The stormfront one surprised me somewhat.
Thanks for the ping. ronpaulforums and stormfront, I’m not surprised a bit.
Don't complain that the media ignores it. This kind of support for a Republican Presidential candidate can be used to deflect criticism of Democrat candidates for accepting support from moveon and KOS.
Example, I posted this thread a little while ago---DailyKos Endorses Osama--Several leftist bloggers think most recent tape makes a lot of sense. There were several examples posted here yesterday, by mnehrling I believe, of similar opinions from ronpaulforums. I didn't note this on the KOS thread, but a dem could easily use this fact to deflect criticism. Legitimately were Paul a viable Republican candidate. The Republican Party doesn't need to revisit the issue of whether it a forum for right wing nuts and haters.
Free Republic Kick Out Ron Paul?
Thursday, September 20, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com
http://www.freemarketnews.com/WorldNews.asp?nid=49257
In a spirited “thread” about Ron Paul supporters on evening of September 20th, FreeRepublic.com’s courageous moderater and founder Jim Robinson seems to take a position against the candidate and additional coverage on the influential site. (See below.)
This may be the culmination of an editorial journey that FreeRepublic.com began taking when George Bush won the presidency. Despite questions over the constitutionality of administration actions throughout George Bush’s presidency - and even significant questions over the narrative of 9/11 - FreeRepublic.com has emerged as significant supporter of the “war on terror” and its domestic manifestations.
Yet during the “Clinton years” FreeRepublic.com was something of a libertarian beacon for those who believed that the administration and congress were badly eroding American constitutional rights. FreeRepublic.com was widely seen as pioneer in Internet activism and influential in politics from the later 1990s on.
Excerpts from the thread, “Where are all the Ron Paul people coming from,” seem to indicate a fairly significant rupture is taking place, though its extend remains somewhat unclear as of this report. (As there appears to have been private e-mailing between the initiator
of the thread and Jim Robinson, the continuity is not quite clear, either):

They are kooks, spammers and trolls.
Jim please clarify. Does that mean Paul threads (like from blogs not news articles) shouldn’t be posted then? Is there going to be a “Will FR embrace cut-and-running to make way for a Paul presidency?” thread?
My support for Paul isn’t due to his anti-war views. It’s because of the other stuff. He agrees with 90% of your statement on your home page and FR ideas. Abolishing the IRS, free market health-care, border security, US out of the UN....FR still supports this, right?

“Ron Pauls campaign is a total joke.”
Ouch again and that will leave a bigger mark and probably permanent scarring.

I'm not aware of neonazi support for Bush II.
There was for Bush I and Reagan, both spoke out, rejecting support from that quarter. That's what Paul needs to do to retain credibility.
I complain about everything the media does or does not do. There is always a conspiratorial reason for what they do.
Back in the 1970s, didn’t Carter shut down all the asylums?
STORMFRONT? Wow!
>> Skinheads and neo-Nazis probably voted for Bush too in 2000 & 2004. <<
Uh, no. Neo-Nazis are socialists. Read “The Turner Diaries” for a good insight into their brains, if you can stomach all the bile. They hate Republicans more than Democrats; they remember which party freed the blacks, defended civil liberties, and overturned segregation: the Republicans. And don’t forget Bush conspicuous presentation of minorities.
The linkage between neo-nazis and conservatives is pure Democratic deceit.
fred is an admitted non practicing armchair Christian - recently changed his denomination from episcopal (liberal) to baptist....so to say he has a firm grasp of Gods plan for Israel and how that relates to a Jewish state and regional middle east politics is laughable
My lede for that news story would be (if I had to cover it): “At a South Carolina political fundraiser, Governor Mike Huckabee defeated Ron Paul, Sam Brownback, Hugh Cort, Daniel Gilbert, and John Cox in a presidential straw vote, which was ignored by serious contenders who nonetheless won several votes each.”
A declaration of war is Constitutional, legal procedure.
'Resolutions' and 'authorizations' are just a statement of policy....a.k.a. hot air.
See Article Article I / Section 8 / Clause 11
To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
I'd be more than happy to discuss issues if anyone wants to. I haven't seen any evidence on this thread of that.
>> Nutjob defends the Constitution, freedom, and liberties. How kooky can one get? <<
Well, I’m a devout Catholic, and there’s a guy in Washington state who says he is trying to preserve the authenticity of the Catholic faith, but you’ll excuse me if I don’t kiss the ring of Lucian Pulvermacher, also known as Pope Pius XIII, or recognize the papal conclave of Montana.
>> I wouldn’t worry about it. I write in Morris the Cat every election and I KNOW he’s dead. <<
Are you from Missouri, or New Jersey. (Waiatasec, that’s right: Sen. Lautenberg technically *wasn’t* dead.)
****10. His moonbat conspiracy theory that there are plans to build a superhighway through the United States from Mexico to Canada.****
I’ve got no problems with that. It’s the interchanges I’ve got a problem with. :^D
You are a liar and God hates liars.
Fred Thompson belongs to the Church of Christ, and always has.
We’re talking about the real world here, where our ally Israel is threatened by islamofascists from all sides and from within, not your own personal Biblical interpretations.
Exactly.
What good is having a small government when the sword of Islam is on your throat.
>> Nutjobstands on the same stage to tell Evangicals he does not support an abortion amendment even though nutjob is pro life. <<
Sounds like nutjob has the same position on abortion as Mike Dukakis, Walter Mondale, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore.
>> Nutjob stands alone on the same stage and says he will not vote to prevent cable televison from having pornographic progams for adults. <<
Nutjob may be opposed to cable regulation, but cable is regulated. Permitting porn on cable, when cable is a government-protected monopoly in most areas, on libertarian grounds is as sensible as being anti-slavery, but supporting the right of slave-owners to kill uppity slaves on the grounds that they have the right to do what they want with their own property. This is exactly the kind of issue that exposes Ron Paul for being a contemptible fool. Once government control over the cable industry is ended, we can argue about whether pornography constitutes protected speech. Until then, the issue is whether government should continue to support porn.
I believe you are mixing up Fred with McCain regarding the Baptist issue. Episcopals are not liberal by default. Just because many in our church are wacky doesn't make the members wacky. Fred has admitted on several occasions w/ out hesitation that he is a Christian, and I don't recall ever reading about Fred espousing God's Plan for Israel.
Enjoy your time in the confessional booth or next to your bed praying for forgiveness for bearing false witness.
