Weapons Of Mass Destruction: A deadly blast occurs at a Syrian missile site as an Israeli airstrike against a suspected nuclear cache catches Tehran's eye. In 1981, Israel thwarted a WMD threat. Is history repeating itself?
According to Jane's Defence Weekly, dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian officers were killed in an explosion as they attempted to mount a chemical warhead on a Scud missile. The explosion reportedly spread a cocktail of lethal chemical agents, including sarin nerve gas.
Syria is a designated state sponsor of terror and is not a signatory of either the Chemical Weapons Convention or the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. It is known to have an active chemical weapons program and is suspected to be the place where Saddam Hussein stashed much of his WMD materials shortly before Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I thought it was just Syrians being incompetent dumb shits.

Nope, the explosion was in the later part of July. It was possibly this blast that brought this site to the top of the list for Israel. Then when the North Korean ship unloaded “concrete” at a Syrian port that was then trucked to this site that the order was given to take it out. Portland cement is composed mostly of silicates and the last time I looked, Syria is full of silicates (sand) Google earth shows lots of what looks like surface mining that produces an almost white surface color around these mines.
Your second point is much more the case of reality.
Not an unreasonable assumption; much precedent.
Now if they would just try to mount a nuke on a scud in Damascas, we’d see Exekiel’s prophecy fulfilled.

On Sept. 6, something important happened in northern Syria. Problem is, no one knows exactly what. Except for those few who were involved, and they’re not saying.
