25 Democrats Voted against it and 3 Democrats didn't vote!
We are pleased to announce that the Senate voted and passed the Cornyn Amendment condemning detestable attacks on General Petraeus and U.S. Armed Forces!
By a vote of 72-25 (3 not-voting), the Senate passed the Cornyn Amendment that strongly condemns any effort to attack the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the U.S. Armed Forces. This Amendment also sends a clear message to the U.S. Armed Forces, letting them know that MoveOn.org and their liberal cohorts in the Senate do not speak for the majority of Americans.
However, 25 Democrats voted AGAINST this amendment that supports the U.S. Armed Forces and 3 Democrats didn't even take the time to vote!
Look at this list and if your Senator voted against the amendment, please use the below form to tell them that you are disappointed in their vote on the Cornyn Amendment on H.R. 3074. If they are not listed below, send them an email using the below form to thank them for supporting the amendment.

Akaka (D-HI), Bingaman (D-NM), Boxer (D-CA), Brown (D-OH), Byrd (D-WV), Clinton (D-NY), Dodd (D-CT), Durbin (D-IL), Feingold (D-WI), Harkin (D-IA), Inouye (D-HI), Kennedy (D-MA), Kerry (D-MA), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Levin (D-MI), Menendez (D-NJ), Murray (D-WA), Reed (D-RI), Reid (D-NV), Rockefeller (D-WV), Sanders (I-VT), Schumer (D-NY), Stabenow (D-MI), Whitehouse (D-RI), and Wyden (D-OR)

Where did you find that info? I was looking to find out if he was, indeed, at the Senate that day, or perhaps was on the campaign trail. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt until I knew for sure!
Whooops — meant to ping you to #62, too.
I posted a link in post 44.
“What’s next HUAC hearings?”
No...more like the Democrats endless hearings about the Patriot Act, wiretapping, the AG, and more...They are trying their best to turn those hearings into Un-American Activities Committee hearings...They are acting like a bunch of morons taking their cues from MoveonMoron.Org
But that’s ok because in Nov ‘08 the American people are going to have one big hearing to put an end to this partisan nonsense
I heard this morning he was in the Senate building at least up to an hour before the vote. If Hillary can vote no, at least Osama-Obama could vote one way or another.
Re: “It is the fact that people like Feinstein and Boxer and Clinton and Reid and Feingold and the rest can stay in the Senate, year after year, with no fear of being defeated in an election, that my faith in a divine God is shaken to its roots.”
I do not like Feinstein, especially due to her anti-Second Amendment positions, but she voted FOR the amendment. She did the right thing, and credit must be given where it is due. A few more votes like this, and I may actually start to respect her.
Don’t remind me - and in a way Schumer is worse than Madame Hillary!
NAYs -25 Akaka (MoveOn-HI) Bingaman (MoveOn-NM) Boxer (MoveOn-CA) Brown (MoveOn-OH) Byrd (MoveOn-WV) Clinton (MoveOn-NY) Dodd (MoveOn-CT) Durbin (MoveOn-IL) Feingold (MoveOn-WI) Harkin (MoveOn-IA) Inouye (MoveOn-HI) Kennedy (MoveOn-MA) Kerry (MoveOn-MA) Lautenberg (MoveOn-NJ) Levin (MoveOn-MI) Menendez (MoveOn-NJ) Murray (MoveOn-WA) Reed (MoveOn-RI) Reid (MoveOn-NV) Rockefeller (MoveOn-WV) Sanders (MoveOn-VT) Schumer (MoveOn-NY) Stabenow (MoveOn-MI) Whitehouse (MoveOn-RI) Wyden (MoveOn-OR)
Here’s what gets me - all these condemnations of those who voted against it, but every last one but Biden and Cantwell (both not voting) voted for the Boxer amendment, which did condemn the Petraeus ad but also condemned attacks on Kerry and Cleland. All Republicans but Specter and Hagel voted against that one, save Allard, who didn’t vote
So all Republicans but three voted against condemning the Petraeus ad earlier, just because they want to keep up these **inine attacks themselves.
I’m from MA, I don’t even have to look at the list.
I just think voting on this is sort of silly. Can we focus on real issues instead of condemning free speech?
I do not agree with the terrible ad whatsoever, but this seems like a waste of time.
Condemning something doesn’t really do anything. We should just say shame shame and move on (please pardon the pun)
LOL! VERY well done! :-)
“no fear of being defeated in an election”,
Those who do not fear are fearless of the divine. God never forced Israel to love and obey Him. We cannot force our own children to obey or love us. In a democracy we cannot force people to vote one way or the other. I see man voting for the anti-Christ. None of which shakes my faith in God, but does enforce what I know about Him.
So does clinton have her own set of generals that support cut and run?
