Think about it, they both profess to believe in dead prophets, (and their fathers killed them) but reject living prophets. Both profess to adhere to the scriptures of their day, (but are really whited sepulchures) but reject new and living scripture.
Eerie isn't it?
The “new” church is growing and is accepting of all denominations that believe in Jesus. I know. I was raised in a church that said the Baptists and Catholics were wrong. They don’t say that anymore.
Pardon me, but it’s a bit Phariseeical to call others Pharisees. Or doesn’t that seem as plain to you as it does to me?
And I would’ve never thought to call you Phariseeical if you hadn’t judged a bunch of others to be Pharisees. Now if Dr. Dobson or other professing Evangelicals call you or your kind (whatever that is) Pharisees, then I could understand why you might say that about them. One thing about the Pharisees (among others) is that they condemned everyone but their own kind. If you weren’t on the Pharisees team, forget it. You were nothing. And who appointed them? They appointed themselves and made up their own rules and standards. Jesus knew this and that’s why he exposed them.
You seem to believe you have identified their modern day version and feel called to let them have it. I say be very careful. It was Jesus himself who exposed them. Jesus, the name above every name, whether in heaven or on earth.

Depends on what you consider a "living prophet" - The fraudulent business of being a Mormon prophet, or something else?
God's use of prophets in the Old Testament sense ended with the introduction of the New Testament. Jesus Christ revealed all knowledge necessary. The New Testament definition of "to prophecy" is quite simply people that spread the news of Jesus Christ through preaching the Word in an exegetical manner.
But I am sure some will argue with me on the point. Might do some good to go back and study Greek and read a bit more in the Bible (and not look towards "additional revelations" found in other books...

I never have been impressed with them as a group, now it makes sense. I go to church, but I prefer the type that doesn’t put these people on pedatsals.
