The only "crisis" in health care in this country is that doctors are paid too little. (Also they've come up with nothing to help that poor Dennis Kucinich.)

But the Democratic Party treats doctors like they're Klan members. They wail about how much doctors are paid and celebrate the trial lawyers who do absolutely nothing to make society better, but swoop in and steal from the most valuable members of society.

I don't believe you. Although it's beside the point, this is still a somewhat free country--the whole effort behind this recent doctor-bashing is to soften them up so they won't oppose socialized medicine. She wants them to know she can beat them, so they'd better join her.

There are a lot of docs ready to just shrug. They know they can pick up a lot of bennies when the fix is in. Like sick leave, personal holidays, overtime, lunch breaks...

They also know that the current litigation rate will have to abate--there is no way to run socialized medicine with the kind of legal climate we have. It'd all just shut down, as the docs are deprived of the income to pay their insurance, quit. Docs are picked from among the brightest college students. They'll find something else to do.

So what? Most of them bloody earn it. If you are suffering from class envy get off your duff and go to medical school.

When lawyers get kidney stones, they don’t get their morphine as fast as non-lawyers. There is also a high rate of barium enemas given to lawyer patients.

thats funny, Texas was the exact state I was thinking of when I made the comment. Obviously you and I are relying on different information. But I wont be so rude as to call you ignorant for having an opinion that differs from mine.

Texas has indeed enjoyed some benefits from their reform. Google or search up on it--"Doctors return from out of state due to malpractice insurance reform." Texas has a number of productive medical schools (Hillary hasn't shut them down yet), but a lot of the graduates leave the state. Now some are coming back, which should make medical care more available.

Not necessarily cheaper. Doctor's fees do not drive up health care costs. Hospitalization, procedures, treatments, technicians--that's the driver of increased costs. Except for some surgeries, your doctor's fee on your hospital bill is a pittance compared to the rest of the charges.

Only a surgical subspecialist at the top of his game --which means an established practice with a reliable flow of patients--like an orthopod who specializes in knees who's 45 years old and owns his own practice with a hoard of junior partners--he might pull down $500k a year.

Now, Tiller the Killer in Kansas brings in about $800K on late term abortions.

By the way--we're due for a serious shortage in surgeons and surgical subspecialists. Women, who make up half of medical students trend away from surgery and surgery specialties. The numbers are already declining. Also--these docs are the ones retiring early, so we're losing experience. We're way down on trauma surgeons--hospitals are starting to rate themselves lower levels of trauma center because of it.

Just in time for overweight America to ruin their knees, hips and backs, and to get into car wrecks in Orlando.
