In my case I have the means to can and or dry foods, including meats. If my gas is intact it would not be such a chore, but if I have to use my outdoor stoves it would be more of a hassle, but either way I have about three days to think about it and prepare to do it.
Salt would seem to be a good option. Course I don’t know if a good liberal could bring himself to use it. Salt... baaad.
