honor killing is not a part of Sikh culture or religion. It is a a man showing dominance over his wife, in this case the man is a Sikh who is using his culture, religion as a shield.
In addition to trial for the actual act both the man and the mother-in-law should be punished was doing it in the name of culture religion.
