I remember a FR thread that was about a study of gender/racial make up of police forces versus the number of times force had to be used. If I am remembering right, the more female cops, the more force used by that police force. The more black male cops, the less force used by that police force.

There was a time when our State Troopers had to be at least 5’10” tall to even be considered.
Of course that had to change when EEO regs kicked in.
I even remember one who was 7’1” tall. When he put his boots on, along with that tall Trooper hat, he was close to 8’ tall. I don.t think he ever had to “subdue” anyone. A nicer guy, you never met, but when he told some punk to do something, it got done.
The thing is, a big guy may not be any tougher than a little one, but not many people want to find out.
