Silverstone bares all for vegetarianism
Houston Chronicle ^ | Sept.19, 2007 | David Barron

Actress Alicia Silverstone's latest role is that of a glisteningly vegetarian Venus, emerging unclothed from a swimming pool to promote People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' goveg.com campaign in a TV ad premiering today in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth.

"I'm Alicia Silverstone, and I'm a vegetarian," Silverstone says.

She's also naked, as evidenced by a brief flash of dorsal nudity about six seconds into the 30-second spot, which will air about two dozen times this week on the Food Network, Lifetime and E!.

I love it!!!

Saw a t-shirt at a hot wings place last week with the following caption: “I eat animals that used to eat vegetables.”

I have zero respect for her. Here’s why. Just like Barry Manilow....

Congratulations. Now go make her feel sexy, instead of oggling ten-year old pictures of (then) twenty-year-old women. :^D

She couldn’t act, but had huge bambi eyes, delicate curves and a permanent pout which was very cute when it was appropriate. So she covered her eyes, took a costume that made her curves look like plastic, and a role she shouldn’t be pouting in...

Hollywood, as an industry, scowers the Earth for beauty, grasps all it finds, and presents none.

Not me. That was just the presumed intent of others on this thread.

Not chubby, normal and not reed-thin like Hollywood types are expected to be.

Actually I liked her in the crush. The thing about her is she believes what she says. I don’t agree and cannot imagine not eating meat but I guess her principles are at least good although illogical.

(she dissed Hasselbeck when she went on The View)

She did, but really is Hasselbeck that great that people should be upset over a catfight. I mean Hasselbeck is ok, but she is far from God.

"Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food." Anthony Bourdain, Kitchen Confidential, p. 70.

Are you saying that you NEVER ignored someone that you did not like or agreed with. I would be curious how you would act if Hillary or Bill showed up at your home..... Let the hypocracy begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of catfight is it when either Manilow makes ridiculous demands which The View wouldn't meet or Silverstone just walks past Hasselbeck & ignores her? IMO, it just shows liberal intolerance towards those who don't share their views. Hasellbeck may not be God, but her views are a lot closer to mine than are Manilow's or Silverstone's...

My views are too, but I just think that it is ridiculous to show that constantly when it really is just immature behavior. It would be news if Silverstone came out and wacked her in the face.

The difference, since you seem not to be able to comprehend it, is that the 2 libloons did it not in the privacy of their homes, but in front of millions of viewers (in Silverstone's case) or so that it would be reported on the news to support Rosie and/or to get publicity for his new album (Manilow's case)...
