Joe Biden is donating to charity a contribution from a Houston oilman on trial for charges related to paying kickbacks to Saddam Hussein, and John McCain says hell follow if Oscar Wyatt is convicted. But Hillary Rodham Clinton would make no such pledge.
Sens. Biden (D-Del.), McCain (R-Ariz.) and Clinton (D-N.Y.) years ago accepted thousands of dollars for previous campaigns from Wyatt, an opinionated self-made billionaire, and his wife, Lynn, as did dozens of others.
Wyatt, an 83-year-old World War II vet, was indicted in 2005 on fraud and conspiracy charges related to illegal payments for oil contracts from the Saddam-led Iraqi government under the United Nations oil-for-food program.

Hillary is afraid of the precedent. If she starts giving back cash donated by felons, she knows that before long she will have nothing. Better to hold the line now and suffer the consequences than to go broke.

Hillary announced she was returning his donations. Earlier last week, she said she might give back as much as $850,000 in donations linked to Hsu. But she has since said she might accept newly issued checks if donors can confirm the money is from their personal funds, not from Hsu.

No, there's been no verification. And yet this article--like all the others--states as fact:
Clinton last month donated $23,000 to charity including contributions to her Senate campaign and political action committee from Norman Hsu, a one-time fugitive convicted on grand theft charges years ago.If the press won't ask the obvious questions, maybe John Edwards will. John Edwards has burnt his bridges with Hillary bigtime, and has specifically noted her campaign's entanglements with Hsu. So I'd look to him to bring up this question at the next presidential debate. Maybe he can be good for something.

I would hate to see a dim POTUS in 2008, but if it had to happen, I'd want it to be Biden for the entertainment value alone.
That dude would have a money quote every day that would keep the whole country laughing and crying at the same time.
