I have been amazed at the number of American Indians who served in WWII as I read the obituaries in the local papers. A very large proportion of the race. My late BiL was 1/4 Kurok and served in Europe in a Engineering battalion of the 8th Air Force.
The son of the Company cook wrote a book of the group. "A Cooks Tour of WWII" or something like that...
Here is a WWII hero you hear very little about... Lady Pilots of WWII It just touches on her history. There has been a lot written about these Ladies locally because Kay lived here...
