For cheap check out the Samick artist series LP’s from a few years back. I have two. I originally bought one as a back up to my 70’s LP Goldtop. After putting in some SD pups it sounded and played so well I put the Gibson away and bought another Samick.

For cheap check out the Samick artist series LPs from a few years back. I have a Samick. It is my "take to the boat guitar" for when I deploy to sea. It is basically a double cutaway Les Paul with a set neck. I replaced the p'ups with DiMarzios. It is a great little guitar and a lot of fun to play! Since it only set me back about $250, I don't worry about it. It has great action and a nice, slim neck. It is heavier than my Les Paul, though!

The other guitar player in my current band has a couple of SX/Agiles, a Les Paul copy and a Les Paul Jr with p90’s. He dropped 57 Classics in the LP and it has a hot tone. The playability just wasn’t for me.
