I’m sure many here together with the ACLU and Leftwingers would protest not only the conviction of this terrorist but also his arrest.

Certainly.  He was 'racially profiled' by an evil, racist police (who get their marching orders from George Bush, Karl Rove and the CIA) and the poor boy didn't actually harm anyone, after all.  It was just his hobby.

He's learned his lesson and should be returned to his community....and be given 24-hour police protection, of course, because he is likely to be victimized by his evil, racist, white neighbors.

I think that you would likely be prosecuted for "racist hate speech" for making such a statement in Scotland.

You might be right but it would be tough to prove since

1) I don't know the race of the terrorist.

2) I am advocating his punishment based on his behavior, not his origin, and

3) Islamofascism is not a race issue, it's a cult.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is suspected of being a major recruiting agent for the terrorist cause. He is related to a central figure in the alleged Canadian plot.
