(Just wondering, couldn't they do this in a more humane way?)

Lovely.
All foreign adoptions have to go through Guangzhou before leaving China.
Just perfect...

So what happens when the Olympics start and bird flu breaks out? Will China quarantine visitors or keep their mouth shut and allow an epidemic to move across the globe?
Inquiring minds want to know.

The bird flu is the biggest non-crisis in the media. Even bigger than global warming.
Ever since it first popped up as the Virus To Kill Us All, in 1997, it’s estimated to have caused 100 deaths. 100. Total world wide deaths - 10 per year.
Put that in perspective, the Center for Disease Control estimates that 36,000 die annually in America from the flu. Or 3600 times MORE than the world-wide total from the bird flu.
Seriously, I think the media keeps the bird flu around simply as a way to scare the masses when there’s nothing else rumbling in the immediate vacinity...
