The thing about charity is that there's never enough. Even had churches been running the best welfare system yet seen, and there's a good case for it, people could always argue that more needed to be done--especially politicians.
So much for the vow of poverty.
Since you're a Catholic, you know that secular priests do not take a vow of poverty. Not that that justifies ostentation.
I find it interesting that you treat taxation as the rule rather than the exception. Should the government really have the latent right to all income everywhere?
Where did I say “income tax”? We should eliminate the income tax as it is unconstitutional. I said property tax and corporate tax, there is a difference.
