Pearl Harbor gave Roosevelt the basis he needed for declaring war on Japan and the debate rages whether he knew of the attack in advance.

Germany didn't attack Pearl Harbor... the article questioned our invasion of North Africa against German forces. Further... only the ignorant debate on whether Roosevelt knew of the Pearl Harbor strike in advance.

That’s correct, but the point made in the threads to which I was responding is that Roosevelt attacked North Africa, not Japan, in response to Pearl Harbor, and Bush, similarly recognizing that 9/11 was not an isolated event, took up the fight in Iraq, a location of his choosing. BTW: Nice cryptic comment about the ignorant.
