1. Alan Keyes attained a record loss in his 2004 U.S. Senate run against Barak Obama...achieving an abysmal 27% of the Illinois vote, while Obama attained 70%.
2. Debt, tax questions surface for Keyes
3. Lest we forget reparations...
Keyes proposed that for a generation or two, African-Americans of slave heritage should be exempted from federal taxes--federal because slavery "was an egregious failure on the part of the federal establishment..."The former ambassador said his plan would give African-Americans "a competitive edge in the labor market," because those exempted would be cheaper to hire than federal tax-paying employees and would "compensate for all those years when your labor was being exploited."
Under Keyes' plan, African-Americans would still have to pay the Social Security tax, because "it's not a tax in the strict sense," said Keyes, calling it instead a payment to support a social insurance program. Chicago Tribune
4. The mysterious missing Minuteman money and the Alan Keyes' web of deceit.
Yeah, exactly when Keyes came out for reparations, I knew there was something wrong.
Didn’t Keyes also reject his daughter for being a lesbian? So much for love the sinner, hate the sin.
Perhaps most significantly, Mr. Keyes ran such an utterly inept race for his Senate run that his opponent didn’t need to campaign against him to be assured of winning. This freed up his opponent to run around the country headlining fundraisers for other Democrats and sending his own previously non-existent name recognition into the stratosphere. If we end up with Barack Obama as President, it will be thanks to Alan Keyes.
