The Dark Side of the Moon (Entire Album)

You know, I still haven't tried listening to this album while watching The Wizard of Oz.

You know, I still haven't tried listening to this album . . .
On March 17, 1973, "The Dark Side of the Moon" hit the Billboard Top 200 album chart the week it was released. On April 28, it reached the #1 spot, where it spent only a single week, but, it stayed on the chart for 741 consecutive weeks, the longest duration in history (the second longest is "Johnny Mathis' Greatest Hits" at 449 weeks).

With 500,000 units sold, 'Dark Side' went Gold in April of '73, and even with sales of well over 30 million worldwide, it has never been certified Platinum because the RIAA didn't institute Platinum status until the 80s and refuses to award it retro-actively.

I first saw Floyd perform it in 1973 with the most extensive stage production by a band I had seen to date. The lights, mirror balls, the smoke, the dry ice machines, the state-of-the-art stereo sound system, the multiple tape loops ... and best of all - Doris Troy wailing her heart out - an angels' voice. It's hard to believe it was thirty-four years ago. I remember it like yesterday.
