In spite of the victim’s statement—the auctioneer of the suit, in spite of video camera tapes showing Simpson with his friends two of whom had drawn guns in the hallway, in spite of Simpson’s own statement that he was there carrying out a sting operation- read that as carrying out an armed robbery- the police still have said he is only a ‘suspect’...He is not under arrest...The police are now interrogating the walls to see if they saw or heard anything, next will come the cleaning staff..meanwhile the suit in question—will probably disappear

Is that the case? It's gonna be hard to justify a SWAT type operation in such a case without some evidence that the alleged "thief" was going to do OJ and his buddies serious harm.

OJ's actions depend very much on the facts concerning whether the property was stolen, and further, that the person who was in possession knew they were stolen.

Entering the room with guns drawn would seem to constitute assault of the people in the room who would justifiably fear for their lives.

Imagine the mess if the person who OJ accuses of having stolen the items, has a bill of sale and good reason to believe that he is the legal owner of the items. Imagine further, that the person carries a gun.

Such a person would probably be justified in drawing that gun and firing at such a group entering his room with guns drawn. There could have been half a dozen deaths in seconds. Nothing new for OJ, but he might not get off this time.
