Well, I suppose AK47s are just as lethal as 9mm then. I guess the bad guys need better “assault” weapons.
The standard AK-47 or AKM fires a 7.62 × 39 mm round with a muzzle velocity of 710 metres per second (2329 ft/s).
A 9mm has a muzzle velocity muzzle velocity of 1160 ft/s (353 m/s).
The elongated, pointed AK-47 round can penatrate body armor, but the rounded bullet of a 9mm can't. Both are lethal with a well-placed shot. The mortality rate among victims of a 9mm assault is higher than the mortality rate of an AK-47 assault if the 9mm shooter has better aim. A slingshot to the head has been lethal since David slew Goliath.
