Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.

Well, I think that description narrowed it down to about a quarter of the male population. It turns out they were looking for a Mexican illegal and they knew his name. Don't want to offend anyone, you know?

Yep- one in surgery that we know of- one died. We don’t know about the other two- though we DID hear awhile ago that one had been treated and released. Hard to tell though- it’s early and unfolding.
Channel 10 showed fairly close up video of the injured female officer being being offloaded from the helicopter.
She was wearing a typical tan and brown patrol uniform. The reporter said she -did- have body armor on and was armed with a Glock sidearm.
She had a white towel over her chest and appeared unconscious.

When police were initially advised, they were told he had purchased a handgun and 3 assault rifles in March. He’s 30 yrs old.

Reporters are saying a house at 201st Street and SW 122th Ave. is surrounded by SWAT.
No helicopter video for the last half hour.
Either they are refueling or the police told the news choppers to back off.......
