As a stepfather myself, I resent that implication. I love my stepchildren (who are grown) as much as I love the children that I've had with their mother (who are almost grown themselves), and don't even get me started on the grandchildren they've given me.
I, as a stepfather, somewhat resent being lumped in with no account live-ins. A stepfather has made a commitment to the mother and by extension the kids. You might want to edit your comment a little.
