How many more of these “live in boy friend” tragedies do we have to hear before we begin to hold the mothers responsible for child endangerment or criminal negligence. Even though she has suffered an unimaginable tragedy I have no sympathy for any parent, man or woman, who puts their immediate gratification ahead of the welfare of their children.

You got that right. Evil step-parents used to be a common literary and storytelling device. But at least they had the decency to marry the surviving parent and adopt the children.

Too often, shack-up boyfriends are just a disaster waiting to happen.

Why shouldn’t they shack up with the “step” boyfriend if they already shacked up with the previous several boyfriends, including the sire of the said children?
