Lest we forget, there is also good news today as well...
Al-Qaida in Iraq takes heavy losses
BAGHDAD, 13 (UPI) -- Al-Qaida militants in Iraq have taken heavy losses in two joint U.S.-Iraqi raids north of Baghdad, the U.S. military reported Thursday.
In one operation involving more than 1,000 U.S. troops and Iraq Special Forces in the Hemreen mountain area and Diyala river valley, three al-Qaida fighters were killed and 80 others were arrested, the Army statement said.
The report said four of the arrested men are considered senior leaders in the terror group, Kuwait's KUNA news agency reported. U.S. air support was used to conclude the raid, after which a major weapons cache was found, the statement said.
Elsewhere in Salah Al-Din province, U.S. forces arrested 12 al-Qaida suspects and destroyed an entire house packed with explosives and weaponry, the report said.

As this continues to happen, it lessens the chance of anyone else stepping to the front and leading in those areas.
Until we shut down the dirtbags in Iran and Syria who are supplying these bombs and terrorists, this will continue....open borders seems to be the death of us and the Iraqi’s.

Ahmad Shah Masood - Killed 09/09/01 by two al Qaeda Arabs posing as TV interviewers.
To: harwood
Very sad news indeed. The plus side is that it will make the Arab Sunni now much more determined to help us in exterminating the Al Qaeda terrorists.
PS: They are celebrating the death of this Iraqi hero on the terrorists forums.

The opposite is true. The Sunni Arab revenge against Al Qaeda will have no bound now, Al Qaeda made their worst mistake in Iraq by killing Sheikh Abdel Al Sattar.

May that involve knives and patience!

I think that this should be in the breaking news section despite that it is sad news to lose such a great ally but on the other hand this will for sure dramatically accelerate the annihilation of Al Qaeda in Iraq, the revenge of the Sunni tribes against Al Qaeda terrorist will have no bound.
