OKLAHOMA CITY — To some Oklahoma football fans, there are things that just aren't done in the heart of Sooner Nation, and one of them is to walk into a bar wearing a Texas Longhorns T-shirt.

That's exactly what touched off a bloody skirmish that left a Texas-shirt-wearing fan nearly castrated and an Oklahoma fan facing aggravated assault charges that could put him in prison for up to five years.

Many native Americans in Oklahoma have brought themselves out of poverty thanks to these ‘cheesy casinos’. Nothing bad about that.

A lot of native Americans were sent to Oklahoma and settled on some of the richest oil property in the U.S. They aren't exactly starving, they get the oil royalties.

Thanks. I have the same list. I work with several of those tribes in the gaming business and none that I am aware of were receiving the oil royalties you described. Are you aware of any specific examples or were you just making a vague assertion? I’m not trying to be hard on you, it’s just I’ve never heard about any *rich* indians in Oklahoma via oilfield royalties.

I have heard land men describing how hard it is to find a Cherokee, for instance, to sign a royalty lease. Oklahoma had a great number of oil fields, although most are on water-flooding and other secondary treatments to pump out their remaining oil. Think Saudia Arabia 20 years from now.

What losers. People who live their life by sports need another life.
