1 million children in orphanages in this country. They're not "little criminals", as Russian tv labels them, and they're not the children of gulag prisoners anymore.

I once spent an entire day in Moscow asking women why they only had 2 children. Those kvartera need more bedrooms.

That's true.

Russian tv labels them

Such statement makes an anware person think that Russian TV intentionally lies about those children. That's not so. On the other hand orphanage children do tend to be engaged in criminal activities due to natural reasons: poverty, poor orphanage keeping, social background.

Sure. They will say you that. The problem is whether its exclusive. Majority of Russians (women as well as men) just don't want to have many children - they want childless lifestyle. The same attitude is in the Western Europe and in the USA among whites. Official US stats says a there are 1.9 children per a white female in the USA.

Kvartera = apartment. Thanks for throwing in a Russian word. I took Russian 20 years ago and recently bought the Rosetta Stone language online software. I hope to one day be fluent in Russian. Fortunately for me my new neighbor is Ukrainian so I hope to lose some pride and start trying to converse with him in Russian.
