Cipro is one of the drugs of choice in the treatment of anthrax. Probably the best. The U.S. didn’t want a run on the drug by people who didn’t have and symptoms of anthrax poisoning but would have to wait until some doctor decided and then even he couldn’t get the drug. I think there’s a big ‘pay off’ involved somehow. It just doesn’t make sense to ban Cipro when many ‘controlled’ drugs can be brought back with a ‘Mexican prescription’.
