Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who drafted a Republican alternative to Dorgan's amendment, said the attempt to block the trucks appeared to be about limiting competition and may amount to discrimination against Mexico.

Hopefully, the voters of Texas will remember this and discriminate against Cornyn at his next primary election.

yeah. I hope Texas voters discriminate him, and vote someone with country-first views in his place.

John Cornyn is one of the good guys. You may disagree with him on this point, but it would be a serious loss were he to leave office.

The sooner ones such as he are handed their walking papers the sooner this nation is on the mend.

Cornyn and Kay B. Hutchison are both “open borders” types but mute this in deference to the political realities in Texas usually. They only came out against amnesty because they knew their political futures were dead if they didn’t.

Both are joined at the hip with Bush. Cornyn is even a buddy of Johnny Sutton the Federal Prosecutor of Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean. So this “wide Stance” of his on the Border issues does not surprise me in the least.

There is no primary opponent to Cornyn. TX voters just rubberstamp friendly incumbents.

I’ll keep him as my Senator. I disagree with him on this issue, but very few others.

You might consider changing your screen name, GWB, seeing how the President, GWB, is all for open borders.

I use to like and admire John Cornyn, but just like many politicians in the GOP, they just don't get it. They've become economic free trade whores and have sold our sovernty to the highest foreign bidder. Cornyn and many other pols have two deaf ears and ignore their constituents.

They ignore us at their own peril and that of our country. I'm seriously wondering if the GOP will ever answer the wake-up call or if they are in cahoots in turning this country over to communist democrats and foreigners.
