When conservatives run strong as conservatives against liberal socialists, they always win. Let’s hope the GOP has the message.

Different articles, same subject.

Technically, different subjects. This one is looking at the 9/10 daily Rasmussen, and the linked article is the Rasmussen weekly ending 9/9.

When he’s up on Real Clear Politics I’ll be more encouraged.

Sorry, I failed to see the previous post about this. It posted the great analysis piece about Fred’s bounce. Significantly, that analysis piece says Fred is actually polling 12 points ahead of Giuliani among “Conservative Primary Voters”. Those are the folks most likely to vote in Republican primaries.

As to the Real Clear Politics average, Giuliani’s lead dropped some today because they are dropping off older polls. Right now, their average takes in all national polls going back to August 13. As Fred stays strong, that average will change as older wide Margin polls for Giuliani drop off the average.

Once the second tier candidates drop out I think FRed will get those votes, not Roody Doody.

I can’t imagine Romney, McLame Hunter, Huckabee supporters going to Roody.

"When conservatives run strong as conservatives against liberal socialists, they always win."

Yeah, like President Goldwater. If you had said they always lose, you would have been closer to the truth.

Yeah, like President Goldwater. If you had said they always lose, you would have been closer to the truth.

So Ronald Reagan's 51%-41% landslide against Dhimmi Carter in 1980, and his even more impressive 59%-41% victory over Mondale in 1984, in which he ran as a strong conservative both times, don't count as wins?

::::::
Goldwater lost because of liberal lies that the stupid voting public bought. When they “feel good” about faux liberal reality that is where they go. Then the libs, after being elected, turned around and did exactly what Barry said he was going to do (in Nam). The public is EASILY DUPED by liberal lies. Wonder if we will see the same stupidity in 2008 ??? Running against the Marxist Medusa, with her criminal track record and rap sheet, it is the Repubs’ election to lose.

“... closer to the truth.”

Actually, what is closer to the truth, since 1952, is that “every time the Democrats nominate a hard-left candidate (like Hillary Clinton), they lose to a Republican.” Adlai Stevenson, Hubert Humphrey, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry. As much as I detest their presidencies, both Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter ran as moderate, Southern ex-governors.

Reagan was a very mild conservative compared to Goldwater. Barry really told you what he thought, and believed in the Constitution. Barry got a lot of people into the Conservative movement, and probably has some credit due for Ronnie's win 16 years later.

However Nixon was not a Conservative, and won. Ford and Dole were not conservatives and lost. Bush is not a conservative and won. I think we win and lose with both hard-core conservatives and with RINOs in about equal measure.

“Yeah, like President Goldwater. If you had said they always lose, you would have been closer to the truth.”

The election of 1964 centered around what to do in Vietnam, which JFK had escalated from an area where we had 400 adivsers to a force of 16,000. Goldwater was an admitted hawk, while LBJ said (lied) that American boys shouldn’t do the fighting Asian boys ought to do for themselves. And then the famous TV ad with the little girl pulling petals from a daisy while a nuclear holocaust looms in the background., portraying Goldwater as a mad bomber.

That election was not simply liberal vs. conservative, but involved Vietnam and the Civil Rights Movement and other major issues of the day.
