Congratulations. Despite a large number of candidates competing against you, you have far and away written the most moronic post in the history of FR.
No one has writtent anything here that indicates that we don't care about public school kids possibly dying in an attack. What has been said is that your kids are safer if you home school. As I pointed out, the home may be a harder target and certainly has fewer available victims. Those are facts.
How exactly is that callous? If I don't let my kids ride in the car without buckling up, that means I don't care if anyone else's kids die in auto accidents? If I immunize my kids I don't care if a child dies from a childhood disease? If I take them to a lifeguarded pool to swim I don't care that another kid drowns in a lake?
Give me a break. I don't know what hellish crud is in your heart that you're projecting on the rest of us right now, but you are way out of line.
I am sorry if I offended you or anyone else. I was too harsh.
However, you and a few others have come across as not being concerned with any possible terrorist threat against the public schools since it would not personally affect you. And some of you have used this thread as an occasion to once again gin up a debate on the merits of homeshooling versus public education. But this isn’t what this thread is about. And the simple fact of the matter, is that homeschooling is not a real solution to this threat since the vast majority of parents who send their children to schools are not going to suddenly withdraw them and start educating them at home in order to keep them safe.
