I disagree. Simple yes, but effective. If you read carefully what I predicted I said nothing about what I desired, only what I thought might happen. I also suggested relocation camps in relation to protecting Muslims in this country.
I have no doubt that most are American supporters of American policy. Most. There was that resent poll however that put 26% as thinking it's just fine to blow us up in the name of Allah.
Regardless, were multiple schools targeted and our children and grandchildren killed one would be foolish to be in public as an arabic-speaking individual. I fully believe that thousands would intentionally TARGET such individuals and rightly or wrongly the police would not be there due to lack of manpower or lack of will.
Again, I'm not advocating this action. I an simply using my common sense and experience to imagine what others may do should the subject of this thread come to pass.
I'd quibble only on the need for full WWII rules for the nation, but I fully expect, should the attack envisioned in this thread come, all antiwar activity will stop cold, or will be stopped cold.
The only place in my safe little town that I’m nervous about entering is the Catholic hospital. It has a no guns tolerated policy, making it a target rich environment.

What's stupid about it? If you're a Muslim planning a big attack that will put the fear of Allah in the infidel, are you going to go to Silverback's house, probably get your head blown off and at best kill five people and a couple of cats, or are you going to go to the local elementary school and maybe kill 500 people with virtually no chance of getting your head blown off?

I was not aware that it was even possible to be an informed conservative and a supporter of gummint skeweling or shall I call it socialized edumakashun or socialist indoctrination? It certainly is not mandatory for conservatives to make believe that gummint skewels are better than they are much less educationally competent. Do you get a paycheck from the gummint skewels too? If so, you should recognize that "gummint skeweling" is at least on a par with gummint skewel standards. My wife teaches at a private school which teaches its students Latin, languages, theology (OH, NO!!! Not that God stuff!) sciences, literature in English and otherwise, algebra in grammar school, Saxon Math mostly, and a wide variety of other academic subjects and continues through high school.
We get by somehow without teaching the kids the wonders of homosexuality, abortion, other perversions, "fisting" and what not. If a local motel closes, we won't be eying it as a potential lab building for sex ed.
No sociopolitical cherry picking but we do expel bad actors on rare and regrettable occasions because we owe it to the well-behaved kids. We also require active Catholicism which is our right and keeps down confusion. That is clear up front. When kids arrive from the gummint skewels, we know just how badly neglected their basic education has been because they are tested for competence and academic achievement. Grammar, vocabulary, literacy, numeracy, behavior are usually more than a little subpar. After a couple of years at her private school, the same kids become solid performers on standardized tests after they have recovered from PS 666.
One of my fellow election judges is a retired (and personally quite liberal but a real lady) gummint skewel teacher whose day job is as a librarian at the public library near our school. She shyly inquires how our school's kids can be sooooo well-behaved and respectful when they come into her library. Answer: We insist on it.
As for your having to put up with my opinions, so long as I am forced to pay for the miseducation and indoctrination of the children of others, I get to express my negative opinions about how my money is being squandered. No one is asking you to pay for private, parochial, parent-run (our particular choice of the moment) or home schooling. Feel free to attempt to criticize though since we will stack our results up favorably against any gummint skewel any day. The thievery that is incompetent gummint skeweling detracts from any message its supporters could possibly send.
What you call childish (a compliment to a very grey beard) is something called sarcasm, a "literary device." If you don't know what a literary device is, call any competent private school and ask or get a dictionary yourself.
I don't want a, ummm, "red cent" (Oh, there I go again being soooo sarcastic just because they steal my money for their scheme) of your tax money or anyone else's to support the education of my children. In fact, I insist otherwise. We would gladly home school them again first before accepting the imbecile strings of incompetence that accompany gummint funding of anything posing as education.
There are many people who find it convenient to tax others to support grandiose excuses for education which amount to little more than hideously expensive glorified babysitting to keep their kids out of the faces and hair of others and themselves. In order to bribe the kids who do attend, it is necessary to have very expensive programs of interscholastic sports like football, basketball, baseball, track and field, cross country, golf, tennis, et al., and wide varieties of other extracurricular activities like drama, the "arts," model United Nations and junior Planned Barrenhood for all I know, and other activities that are utterly irrelevant to educational necessity. Some Fairfield County, Connecticut, gummint skewels in very affluent towns have the effrontery to use tax money for "junior year abroad" programs in places like Paris. For the children, for the children, don't you know???
A tremendous number of the kids appear bored to tears. Many flee as soon as they can. Not without reason given the fluff and bullwhatever that passes for educational "substance" at gummint skewels.
If you happen to be conservative in other respects, stand up on your own two feet and pay for your own babysitting services without my tax money or, and here is a radical idea, actually send your kids to schools (never public) where they can acquire a taste for learning and actual educational accomplishment and enthusiasm.
