If I sit down with a good Japanese friend over a nice cold Kirin Dry or Hyoketsu Lime, why it takes nearly 20 minutes or more to explain to them the odd, queer, foreign (mostly American) concept of "political correctness".

Seriously. It needs that much explanation. Even after a good explanation, some Japanese friends will be scratching their heads.
