Be careful with your prognostication that this damage was done by someone from the left.
It won’t take long before you hear a politician or newsman tell us that this damage most likely was done by the right in order to “logically “ blame it on the left.

People on the conservative side of the universe have consciences, and the utmost respect for our fallen warriors. I don’t think any conservative would do something like this; not even to a memorial for a person or cause with which they do not agree.

Well, sure. What are the odds they are right? Pretty low, IMO.
I have no problem making that prediction.
You will find it is the usual tactic of the left to do things like...oh...burn a church and blame right wingers and so on. It would be even MORE pathetic if it were not so predictable.
