A weed-eater, lawnmower, edger, any piece of landscaping equipment would follow (parallel, if you prefer) the wall from beginning to end. I do not think that any sane person would claim that all the observed spatter came from one fixed location.
Further they have been doing maintenance around the wall for years and this just happens now?
Who says it never happened before? There wasn't a blogosphere a few years ago. So if there was an unidentified mess on the wall, they'd just spray it with dish soap and hose it off. It wasn't an issue. just some stuff that happened.
Back to the issue of credulity: it's absurd that a motorized lawn machine could leave that kind of stain pattern over that distance, but obvious that a kid in a hoodie and a pair of Doc Martens could pull it off undetected in the middle of the night? Come on.
Takoma said the the oil on the Nurses Statue was up and down the Statue.
I really don’t buy the landscaping machinery oil theory.
And the Park Service was doing their best to remove it this morning. [Mr] T
I have been to the Memorial at night and nobody was running a weed eater.
How many other sites of vandalism are you going to blame on lawn equipment?
Why are you defending this desecration?
