Mrs. Trooprally called me this evening to tell me that she and her husband, as well as Concretebob, saw damage along almost the entire length of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. They found this damage this morning, when they walked through the area before participating in the September 11th Freedom Walk.
Concretebob was told by a National Park Service employee that the damage was done on Friday night. There was no police report taken or written about the vandalism, apparently. And the damage was still very much there today.
Here are a few of the photos that Mrs. Trooprally took this morning...
This first one is not so noticeable, but as they walked into the center, it got worse.
It looks like the person who did this walked along The Wall with some type of container, perhaps hidden at their side so that they could squirt the oily substance without being caught in the act.
The names along the lower part of The Wall appear to have taken the brunt of the damage.
Because of the reflective nature of The Wall, Mrs. Trooprally had a tough time capturing the extent of the damage. Mr. Trooprally said that the oily substance has discolored the shiny stone, but that it has been absorbed into the more porous area where the names are etched into The Wall.
I’ve been to that memorial once in my life, over a decade ago, it was the most moving memorial I’ve ever seen. I thank God that America has heroes that fight for my freedom, every one of that serves is a hero in my mind (I came of age after the Vietnam war and was much too hard headed for the military but have ALWAYS understood that our military keeps me free and have ALWAYS supported them). The vermin that did this do NOT deserve to live in this country.
In the air, its not a gas; the physical liquid as small droplets needs to touch the skin. Or touch soemthing that touches the skin.

Since Friday, they’re probably on their computers hoping to see some publicity about their treasonous work. But, they WILL talk. They can’t help themselves.
Just looking at the pictures, I’d say it was definitely oil or something with an oil base. Urine would simply evaporate.
I bet many of the do care - care enough to help the perpetrators.

Ha ha ha FReeper scum...real funny. Thing is SDS would not post this and you know it, but as always you crazies make us laugh. If you come folks might just spray your SUV maybe leave some flat tires, see how you idiots like it when you go back to your car and you cannot drive it!!!!!!!
Who the hell is SDS??? I hope the police are going to be checking with GOE to get information about this guy. He is number one candidate for it, in my book.
And on Sunday morning, the damage was still there.
Unknown if any contact has been made by the Park Service people to get this mess cleaned up.
If we showed up with cleaning supplies, I'd bet we'd be stopped.

Good assessment. You’d hope this would be given some DHS priority for immediate analysis. This could take overnight to determine, if the right players were involved. I hope the right response is being taken.

Unless I’m missing something, what we know is this: Something was spattered on the memorial. Everything else is a guess.
Me too. I am tired of their stupid and thoughtless act; especially in a country that affords them a voice.
tgsl this guy had to sign up to be able to post. They should have some info on him.
Show up with a couple of live feeds into the Rush Limbaugh Show or Mark Levin's show and let them stop you. The entire country would then hear first hand how "progressive" the bureaucrats in Washington really are.

Have you ever known a government worker to care about anything?
What pisses me off is they have enough money to put cameras up everywhere to keep tabs on the public, red light cameras, etc,etc. but nothing for monuments such as this.

(I can hope some folks will investigate these folks as a possible terror connection to Osama bin laden)...
