I’m not sure that we need it. I would think that repair, expansion, and perhaps car-truck separation on the interstates and other limited-access roads would be fine. More interstates and other highways could be built where needed. Such activities could be funded through a combination of taxes, tolls, and PPPs.
Of course, since the NAFTA Superhighway is tinfoil, this little exercise is entirely academic.
Do you think the Kansas City Southern Railroad transporting Chinese crap that is landed in Mexico at the Lazaro Cardenas super port is tinfoiler fantasy? That the importing powers that be want to do this to sidestep West Coast ports? So they can screw American companies and workers there same as George Bush screwed truckers yesterday by allowing Mexican truckers to steal work from them?
SPP is for real. So are NAFTA super highways but some of the plans move very slowly (extensive super highways) and some move much quicker (Lazaro Cardenas to Kansas City railroad transporting Chinese imports)
